Welcome to Beginner's Mind Yoga. My name is Annelies Scheepens and I love teaching yoga to everybody that enjoys moving, relaxing and doing some meditation or mindfulness.
I enjoy looking at the scientific function of certain movements and yoga poses (also known as 'functional yoga') and I am very aware of the fact that every body is different and especially every skeleton is build differently. What is easy for one person, can be impossible for another. So I try to make my yoga lessons as inclusive as possible; a great yoga lesson for every level with plenty of options and adaptations. This way you will surely find the perfect way to practice yoga for your body. In other words: your yoga!
Why did I choose the name 'Beginner's Mind Yoga'? Because the philosophical way of looking, doing and feeling like you are looking, doing and feeling something for the first time, is a great way to practice yoga.
I read up on the latest science concerning yoga & mindfulness. And I learn and study on a regular basis. I find it very interesting to keep a science based approach to yoga and to base my lessons on this science.
But above all, I have noticed first hand how good it feels to stick to a regular yoga practice
and to take that time out to take care of my body & mind.
